The Ultimate Guide To Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the greater health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each level will differ. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For instance splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing statistics.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons.  More hints  for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. A player can upgrade their trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Once the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that they won't replace in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding the items to upgrade, players should be aware of the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket until it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying the new one.
