World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. In the case of items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you have an extremely lucky roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their performance. In item upgrades of a helm or chest, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts increase their strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.

Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has, the more value you can get from every point of health and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.
To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in cold environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be earned through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.
When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle in which it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. The same applies to the use of a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant, such as a trinket. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as old one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they are not needed, allowing a player to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are first upgraded, followed by their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they won't be replacing in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still less expensive than buying a new one.
