Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade item s, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.
There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
Once an item has been finished being leveled, it will be eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes for it, whereas a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have less chance of success.
To measure the height of a building engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength or damage, as well as other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in very rare instances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to obtain reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or bad thing dependent on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also includes several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a great method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be of different dimensions, have no elements, or only have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are many set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the item's stats much as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific procs that are useful for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
